3D Efficiency GmbH offers an attractive combination of precision, speed and price in 3D digitalisation.
Often there are no suitable plans for existing real estate, warehouses and production facilities that represent the actual status. Outdated 2D layouts make it difficult to redesign the underlying architecture.
We make 3D digitalisation accessible for the first time for large-scale building planning. Through our AI algorithms the short-term provision of current data on existing structures can be ensured.
In order to achieve the highest precision, we rely on state-of-the-art Hardware with millimeter resolution. Our algorithms support all common 3D laser scanners with maximum accuracy. This makes us significantly faster than our competitors and avoids unnecessary downtime in production.
Our solution enables 3D visualisation as a point cloud that can be integrated into leading planning tools.

A Removable Camera Add-On for Light-Field Imaging
Light-Field imaging provides a number of post-capture functionalities. Unfortunately the currently available light-field cameras are limited in respect to other important photographic parameters (e.g. spatial resolution). Thus, they often are not considered to be a reasonable alternative to standard cameras.
We have developed a removable camera add-on, which enables light-field imaging with standard cameras. Coupled with software it extends the functionality of customary cameras to/with dynamic refocusing, perspective shift, changing the field of view, 3D image acquisition and many other interesting features.
The product is a special objective lens, which eliminates the need to buy an additional standalone camera for light-field imaging and opens a whole new world of possibilities.
K|Lens provides professional, artist and hobby photographers with an easy switch from common photography to a light-field photography and vice versa.
The technology potential extends far beyond photography.
Further possible application fields are optical quality control, 3D image acquisition and many more.

A tool for film-makers to combine realistic high frame rates with the almost century-old “cinematic look”.
This technology gives you the freedom of combining realistic high frame rates videos with the almost century-old tradition of shooting films at 24 frames per second.
There is an emerging trend in film-making to employ high frame rates. Increasing the frame rate helps to alleviate many artifacts of motion picture and leads to a more realistic image but destroy the well-established aesthetics of the “cinematic look” of 24-fps motion pictures. For that reason, the reactions of the audiences to increased frame rate have been mixed so far. This is a paradoxical situation in which improving the objective reproduction quality leads to an inferior subjective experience.
To solve this problem, we have developed a software tool to gradually simulate the whole spectrum of frame rates (spatially or temporally) on a single-frame-rate display. This allows to minimize the frame rate (and thus maximize the“cinematic look’’) while keeping the visibility of artifacts reasonably low.
Our solution gives film-makers fine control over the look of the film and its perception by the viewer.
A travel experience platform to search and document round trips.

Preparing and booking a round trip can be a tedious task as many different aspects have to be evaluated. Someone needs to take care of picking destinations, deciding the mode of travel, booking of accommodations, and planning of activities during the trip. Back home from the trip it is a daunting task to organize memories created in the form of pictures and videos and they reside in the depths of the laptop. One lacks a feasible, time efficient method that can help recall the memories of and do justice to the impressive travel experience.
TripAround facilitates exactly this visual presentation and sharing of the tour experience as a whole. Overview maps, structured galleries with space for experiences and tips are created via a simple picture upload. By making user-generated as well as professionally organized multimedia-driven tours searchable by personal preferences, everyone can find a tour of their interest. The time of preparation is shortened and bookings are simplified making the process more easy and enjoyable. Also, by storing the pictures and travel details one can relive their travel experience as they did the first time.

The intelligent automated way to create artefact-free HDR images on a large-scale
HDR technology allows taking photographs that closely resemble what we observe with the naked eye.
The technology is widely used, however, the market lacks an automatic and reliable tool to create HDR images of scenes that contain moving objects, for instance people, which are the most common subject in photographs. In such scenes, unnatural artefacts called ‘ghosting’ appear, wherever there are moving objects. This is the reason that most HDR images used as examples of the technology contain only static scenes without any people.
Currently, users manually edit the images to correct the ghosting problems (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MSmSF2TmMI) or just avoid as much as possible to take HDR images of scenes that contain people or any type of dynamic objects.
To allow the creation of HDR images containing people, we developed HDR technology, which learns the noise behavior of the camera. Thereby it is able to reliably predict where ghosting will occur and avoid it.
This product will enable companies and individual users to create HDR images containing people with virtually no supervision. Today, actors typically apply manually multiple deghosting tools using different algorithms in a row to achieve an acceptable result. Our adaptive algorithm achieves this goal automatically and considerably more reliably than existing solutions. The ease of use of the technology will not only improve the work and experience of existing users, but also most likely convince new users to apply the technology in the future.
